Antonios Garefalakis

Mr. Garefalakis is an Associate Transportation Engineer/Planner with sharp analytical skills and a strong academic background in modeling, city planning and transportation economics. Before joining Dowling Associates, Inc. he worked for the California Partners of Advanced Transit and Highways (PATH) as a graduate student researcher, where he issued recommendations for Caltrans regarding the use of ITS to inspect and improve commercial vehicle operations. He currently specializes in the development and application of travel demand models for highway and transit projects using Cube/Voyager and TransCAD. His modeling experience includes data preparation, model development and road and transit validation. In addition, he is skilled in using PeMS, FREQ12, TURNS and Microsoft Excel for traffic and land use data analysis.

Mr. Garefalakis earned his diploma (Bachelor’s & Master’s degree) in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and a Master of Science in Transportation Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. His studies focused on travel demand forecasting, traffic operations and public transit networks.
